Benny Sims Jr. a native of Beaumont, Texas, has had over 40 years of tenure in the game of tennis as a player, coach, administrator, mentor, spokesperson, perhaps best known as the career coach of former World No 7 Chanda Rubin, who holds seven WTA Tour singles titles.
As a student at Texas Southern University, Benny was a two-time All American, and American Tennis Association (ATA) Men’s Singles Champion.
Immediately afterwards he participated on the professional tour as a player.
Relocated to Boston, Benny became the Assistant Tennis Coach at Harvard University and he had a major role in repositioning recruiting for the Division I tennis program.
His next professional challenge was to become a development coach at the USTA and on the professional tour circuit.
Over the next years, Benny’s expertise and experience in consulting, recruiting and player development in the U.S. and around the world was highly regarded by the tennis industry such as ATP, WTA, ITF and USTA.
Benny's motto is to be energetic and goal oriented. His expertise in game fundamentals, techniques and analysis is extraordinary. Also his track record is impressive, his convincing and exceptional consulting skills and the ability to adapt to all levels of players.
Besides his enormous influence with the former World No 7 Chanda Rubin, Benny led many tour players very successfully, such as Bob Green (1984 ATP Newcomer-of-the-Year), Gigi Fernandez, Rodney Harmon, Todd Martin, Tim Mayotte, Catarina Lindqvist, MaliVai Washington, Marianne Werdel, Tommy Ho.
Over decades, Benny conducted several tennis podiums and clinics in Europe, the Caribbean and Africa, he was consultant for the Antigua Junior Tennis Program to give young players the opportunity for college scholarships in the U.S.
In the position as the National Coach of the USTA Player Development Programm he was involved in the selection for the nation's top juniors, colleges and young professionals.
Furthermore Benny had the remarkable position as the Head Tennis Professional at Longwood Cricket Club in Boston/Chestnut Hill, MA, which brought him the honor to serve as the first African American tennis director at one of the premier clubs in the United States and he also became the Primary Ambassador for all external and internal club activities.
During his career as a Tennis Coach, Benny received several additional honors such as being as the first African-American Tennis Coach in the Ivy League (Harvard), the first African-American National Coach for the USTA Development Program, received the "Trailblazer Award" for contributions and achievements in tennis by the Sportsmen's Tennis Club in Boston honored by Longwood Cricket Club in 2020, furthermore being elected and inducted into Black Tennis Hall of Fame 2019, also participated in a podium at Yale University of Arthur Ashe along with Ray Arsenault, the author of Arthur Ashe’s book „A Life".
Benny currently resides nearby Princeton University in New Jersey with his wife, and has two adult daughters.

At the request of his sister Mary, David became her coach between 1999 and 2001. In addition to numerous titles on the WTA tour, Mary won the French Open in Paris in 2000.
At the renewed request of his sister Mary, David repeatedly took on the challenge of coaching between 2004 and 2006. The result of this was the final at the French Open, the US Open and the Masters at the end of the year, which made Mary number 3 in the women's world ranking.
As a private coach of several WTA and ATP professionals, David gained further experience on the international tennis circuit, equally as a junior coach in the high-performance area.
For his own further development, David then completed an apprenticeship in massage therapy and again joined the Bollettieri Academy - in the field of Sports Medicine. At the same time, David completed a "study of the human body and biomechanics", with a focus on "body center". Growing up near Frankfurt, Oliver was considered one of the best young tennis players in Germany. As a German junior champion, he reached the top 15 of the ITF world ranking.
In the years between 1992 and 2004,
Oliver was participating on the ATP tour and reached the top 60 in the ATP world ranking.
His best ATP tournament results were the final in San Marino and the round of the last at the US Open. Oliver also won 10 titles on the ATP Challenger Tour.
As his biggest individual victory was the match against the world number one Pete Sampras at the 1995 ATP tournament in Barcelona.
Furthermore, Oliver defeated some Grand Slam winners and finalists such as Yevgeny Kafelnikov (ATP # 1), GregRusedski (ATP # 5), Alberto Berasategui (ATP # 5), Sergi Bruguera (ATP # 3) Carlos Costa (ATP # 7) and other top 10 players such as Feliciano Lopez and Marc Rosset.
In Oliver's following career as a coach, he became Head Coach in the largest tennis academy in Germany between 2004 and 2007, he supervised among others ATP top 100 professionals such as Oliver Marach (including top 10 in doubles), Evgyeni Korolev, Mathias Bachinger and in the women's circuit WTA top 100 players such as Sabine Klaschka, Angelika Roesch and Angelika Bachmann.

Between 2011 and 2018, again from 2021 to 2023, Oliver was involved as a High Performance Coach at the traditional tennis club MTTC Iphitos Munich, where the prestigious ATP event "BMW-Open" also takes place.

David was born in North Carolina in 1976 as the son of an American father and a French mother. His slightly older sister is the former French Open winner Mary Pierce.
Under the influence of the career development of his sister Mary, David can draw on unique experience. The family moved a total of over 100 times before David was 10 years old, with places of residence throughout America, Canada and France.
As a child, David trained daily together with my sister to become a professional tennis player himself. However, a serious injury stopped all dreams before his 18th. Birthday.
In addition to his subsequent experience as a young tennis coach in the Bollettieri Academy (now IMG) and in California, David became a very sought-after sparring partner on the ATP tour for several years. In order to advance his own professional development, David took over the development program of the juniors in one of the prestigious David Lloyd tennis centers in London /GB as a senior coach.
At the request of his sister Mary, David became her coach between 1999 and 2001. In addition to numerous titles on the WTA tour, Mary won the French Open in Paris in 2000.
At the renewed request of his sister Mary, David repeatedly took on the challenge of coaching between 2004 and 2006. The result of this was the final at the French Open, the US Open and the Masters at the end of the year, which made Mary number 3 in the women's world ranking.
As a private coach of several WTA and ATP professionals, David gained further experience on the international tennis circuit, equally as a junior coach in the high-performance area.
For his own further development, David then completed an apprenticeship in massage therapy and again joined the Bollettieri Academy - in the field of Sports Medicine. At the same time, David completed a "study of the human body and biomechanics", with a focus on "body center". With the knowledge of the acquired studies, David specialized as an athletics trainer from 2015.
With the background knowledge as a tennis player and coach, as well as a physiotherapist, there was an excellent overall constellation of valuable skills.
He worked closely with numerous experts in the industry, including Mark Verstegen (founder IPI, Exos), Xavier Moreau (FFT), Yutaka Nakamura, Allistar
McCaw, from whom David was able to learn extensive experience about the athletic training of tennis professionals.
Since the founding of his company DPPT (David Pierce Performance Training) in 2016, David has trained and accompanied numerous ITF juniors, D1 college players and ATP hopes such as Manouel Alencar (LMU), Elliot Carnello (USC), William Mroz (Univ of Illinois), Lancelot Carnello (Ohio State), Anna Dovgopolyi (Stetson Univ) as an athletic trainer.
In addition, David was the director of fitness and performance training for the NGTA (Next Generation Tennis Academy) in Florida for four years.
At the professional level of the ATP and WTA, David had attractive employment with Yibing Wu (#54) and Danielle Collins (#34).
David's philosophy:
"I look at the players from a very holistic perspective and take into account the overall burden on the body through all aspects of their lives, not only through their sport.
I look at them with the eyes of a former player, tennis coach, physio and fitness professionals to support my players both on and off the court. I know the demands that tennis places on the body and know how to recover so that the player grows physically, mentally and emotionally.
I have degrees in sports science, biomechanics, functional movement, correction training, manual therapy and mental development of the athlete, in addition 25 years of martial arts studies (Judo, Kenjutsu, Aikido, JuJutsu, Tai Chi, Kung Fu).

From 2009 to 2010, Oliver took over the position as full-time coach of Elena Bovina (WTA 14)
Between 2011 and 2018, again from 2021 to 2023, Oliver was involved as a High Performance Coach at the traditional tennis club MTTC Iphitos Munich, where the prestigious ATP event "BMW-Open" also takes place.
In the meantime, from 2019 to 2020, Oliver had taken over the position as Davis Cup Coach and National Head Coach of the Tennis Association in Qatar.

Benny Sims Jr. a native of Beaumont, Texas, has had over 40 years of tenure in the game of tennis as a player, coach, administrator, mentor, spokesperson, perhaps best known as the career coach of former World No 7 Chanda Rubin, who holds seven WTA Tour singles titles.
As a student at Texas Southern University, Benny was a two-time All American, and American Tennis Association (ATA) Men’s Singles Champion.
Immediately afterwards he participated on the professional tour as a player.
Relocated to Boston, Benny became the Assistant Tennis Coach at Harvard University and he had a major role in repositioning recruiting for the Division I tennis program.
His next professional challenge was to become a development coach at the USTA and on the professional tour circuit.
Over the next years, Benny’s expertise and experience in consulting, recruiting and player development in the U.S. and around the world was highly regarded by the tennis industry such as ATP, WTA, ITF and USTA.
Benny's motto is to be energetic and goal oriented. His expertise in game fundamentals, techniques and analysis is extraordinary. Also his track record is impressive, his convincing and exceptional consulting skills and the ability to adapt to all levels of players.
Besides his enormous influence with the former World No 7 Chanda Rubin, Benny led many tour players very successfully, such as Bob Green (1984 ATP Newcomer-of-the-Year), Gigi Fernandez, Rodney Harmon, Todd Martin, Tim Mayotte, Catarina Lindqvist, MaliVai Washington, Marianne Werdel, Tommy Ho.
Over decades, Benny conducted several tennis podiums and clinics in Europe, the Caribbean and Africa, he was consultant for the Antigua Junior Tennis Program to give young players the opportunity for college scholarships in the U.S.
In the position as the National Coach of the USTA Player Development Programm he was involved in the selection for the nation's top juniors, colleges and young professionals.
Furthermore Benny had the remarkable position as the Head Tennis Professional at Longwood Cricket Club in Boston/Chestnut Hill, MA, which brought him the honor to serve as the first African American tennis director at one of the premier clubs in the United States and he also became the Primary Ambassador for all external and internal club activities.
During his career as a Tennis Coach, Benny received several additional honors such as being as the first African-American Tennis Coach in the Ivy League (Harvard), the first African-American National Coach for the USTA Development Program, received the "Trailblazer Award" for contributions and achievements in tennis by the Sportsmen's Tennis Club in Boston honored by Longwood Cricket Club in 2020, furthermore being elected and inducted into Black Tennis Hall of Fame 2019, also participated in a podium at Yale University of Arthur Ashe along with Ray Arsenault, the author of Arthur Ashe’s book „A Life".
Benny currently resides nearby Princeton University in New Jersey with his wife, and has two adult daughters.
